A mountain and a river are good neighbours

Crisp ice flowers on snow
(Crush them underfoot as we go)
These cold, clear flowers stand straight.
Guarding the mountain’s whitened gate;
Small streams, lending their cold to mountain
Tremble through cavernous snow that is too
And soft to touch, smooth and whirled
By the everlasting winds that curled
The snow like the white sea foam
On crinkling sand Deep within the snow
cavern’s home
The living heart of the mountain beat
Thro’ water running on icy feet
The word of Beauty in silence speaks.
Trembling over time and space,
In that vast and leisured place,
And in my heart an ice bloom flowers.
Melting, as have the magic hours.
