When you meet a man who is broken, pick him up and carry him. When you meet a woman who’s broken, put her all into your arms. Cause we don’t know where we come from … we don’t know where we are. ”

― Laurie Anderson

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. :

My Sitting Down Place

My Sitting Down Place by Gail Kay, Proserpine, QLD

I go down to the creek

Where the water gurgles

Joyfully

As it hurries along

Over the shining sand and pebbles

To its destiny

With the sea.

Dappled sunlight

Flits and moves

Across the water, over the creek bank,

And the birds sing happily

To the accompaniment

Of insects and crickets.

I sit in silence as I soak it all into my soul.

Peace flows

From the water

To my heart.

Whatever life brings me I now can face

Because of this,

My sitting down place!

Most wars are started by well-fed people with time on their hands to dream up half-baked ideologies or grandiose ambitions, and to nurse real or imagined grievances.

Intuition does not always appear as the ingenious breakthrough or something grandiose. Intuitive thoughts, feelings, and solutions often manifest themselves as good old common sense. Common sense is efficient.

Don’t try to tell me what I am because I know what I am not”

To pursue yourself is an interesting and absorbing thing to do. Once you have caught the scent of a hidden being, your own hidden being, you won’t readily be deflected from the tracking down of it.

“The basic problem with the world today is the unbalance between the male and female aspects, the unbalance between our inner and outer world, the unbalance between knowledge and wisdom, the unbalance between intellect and intuition and the unbalance between activity and rest.”

― Swami Dhyan Giten, The Silent Whisperings of the Heart – An Introduction to Giten’s Approach to Life

“Throughout his life, Albert Einstein would retain the intuition and the awe of a child. He never lost his sense of wonder at the magic of nature’s phenomena-magnetic fields, gravity, inertia, acceleration, light beams-which grown-ups find so commonplace. He retained the ability to hold two thoughts in his mind simultaneously, to be puzzled when they conflicted, and to marvel when he could smell an underlying unity. “People like you and me never grow old,” he wrote a friend later in life. “We never cease to stand like curious children before the great mystery into which we were born.”
― Walter Isaacson

taking a pleasurable experience in mind

– In how far is this "pleasure" simply an escape or a temporary forgetting of daily problems?
– How nice would it be if I kept doing this without interruption for a few days?
– How fulfilled do I feel by this experience after 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 days?
– To achieve the same great feeling as the first time, do I need more of the same the next time?

Following the right way and controlling the desires will bring us pleasure and order in life. Following the desires and forgetting the right way will not bring us pleasure and will bring disturbance into life."
(The Words of ‘Li Ji Raiki’)

Three silences that are better than speech: silence during instruction, silence during music, silence during preaching.

‘I had not yet fully wakened from my material sleep of ignorance, and was but dreaming of the dawn of early wisdom, when I heard the intuitive voice of my soul cry out from the tavern of inner silence: O little thoughts of awakening wisdom, rouse yourselves, fill the cup of consciousness with Divine Joy, ere life’s vitality vanish from the bodily cup’
