Michael was a monkey, and a lonely chimpanzee, Trying hard to find a lady chimp to share his tree.

There was but one hiccup in this quest to soothe his heart:

Every time he talked to monkey girls he’d start to fart.

May every old fairy, from Cork to Dunleary,  Dip him snug and airy in river or lake,  Where the eel and the trout may feed on the snout  Of the monster that murdered Neill Falheerty’s drake

Airy, Fairy Lilian,
Flitting, fairy Lilian,
When I ask her if she love me,
Claps her tiny hands above me,
Laughing all she can;
She ‘ll not tell me if she love me,
Cruel little Lilian.

II
When my passion seeks
Pleasance in love-sighs,
She, looking thro’ and thro’ me
Thoroughly to undo me,
Smiling, never speaks:
So innocent-arch, so cunning-simple,
From beneath her gathered wimple
Glancing with black-bearded eyes,
Till the lightning laughters dimple
The baby-roses in her cheeks;
Then away she flies.

III
Prythee weep, May Lilian!
Gaiety without eclipse
Whearieth me,
May Lilian;
Thro’ my every heart it thrilleth
When from crimson-threaded lips
Silver-treble laughter trilleth:
Prythee weep,
May Lilian!

IV
Praying all I can,
If prayers will not hush thee, Airy Lilian,
Like a rose-leaf I will crush thee, Fairy Lilian.
Lord Tennyson

Daisies are like sunshine to the ground.

The everlasting daisies form a carpet pink and white,
A fairyland of frosting, a vision of delight,
Ghost gums dance in mystic moonlight to a whispering refrain,
Yet the spirit of the inland
Lives in mulga after rain.

Alcohol removes inhibitions – like that scared little mouse who got drunk and shook his whiskers and shouted: “Now bring on that damn cat!”

Most people aren’t appreciated enough, and the bravest things we do in our lives are usually known only to ourselves. No one throws ticker tape on the man who chose to be faithful to his wife, on the lawyer who didn’t take the drug money.

You will never change your life until you change something you do daily.

The prayer of words cannot be eliminated. And I must pray them daily, whether I feel like praying or not. Otherwise, when God as something to say to me, I will not know how to listen. Until I have worked through self, I will not be enabled to get out of the way.”

Madeleine L’Engle, Walking on Water: Reflections on Faith and Art
